After months of doubters questioning if the former world champion still "had it", the self proclaimed "face that runs the place" came out in full force on Monday Night RAW and recaptured that brass ring to become the next #1 contender for the Universal Championship. Cox is making no bones about coming for what he thinks is rightfully his.

Cox hasn't been Universal Champion in almost two years, and has been on a drought of any gold whatsoever in WWEP for quite some time, which led many to believe that he would be hanging up his wrestling boots quite soon. But like a phoenix, he rose up from the ashes and proved all his naysayers wrong. Cox has stated on numerous occasions that he has no direct personal "beef" with the new WWEP Universal Champion Austin Michael Pieper, but that will not stop him from coming in and grabbing his brass ring.

Cox was victorious on Monday night taking out not only former champion and Prestige member, Cody Miller but also Prestige's new "brother" Ben Conners. Cox put it all on the line to solidify himself as the number one guy deserving of a Universal Championship match, and maybe more than ever has proven that not only is he the most deserving...but that he has the ability to take on the entire Prestige himself.

Cox and Pieper are set to square off for the Universal Championship at Clash of the Champions on September 15th in the Spectrum Center in legendary Charlotte, NC where it all began!
