After a vicious sneak attack that left the WWEP World Heavyweight Champion hospitalized on Sunday night at Summerslam, Matt Charles has officially been released from the hospital and expected to be at Smackdown tonight.

After fighting a very hard fought battle against Benjamin Conners for the WWEP World Heavyweight Championship last Sunday night at Summerslam, the new champion was headed backstage to celebrate with his fellow Prestige brothers. But those plans were quickly and viciously derailed when someone decided to cut short this celebration by brutally attacking the new World Champion and forcing him to get rushed to a local Toronto hospital. It is unknown who this mystery assailant is, but the world champion had some very strong words from him in his hospital bed.
“When I find out who did this, when I find out who is responsible, let me tell ya somethin', I'm gonna get even. I'm gonna get back.” - "The Vision" Matt Charles
Charles suffered several internal injuries, as well as a set of broken ribs from this heinous attack. Even though doctors advised Charles earlier today not to check himself out of the hospital, it is being reported that he insisted on making it to Smackdown tomorrow night to not just find this attacker, but also see who his first title defense will be against. Rumors are circulating that the official #1 contender Tdog had something to do with this, but at the same time he was checked into the same hospital after a brutal match against George Amuah-Niamkey.
If not Tdog, then who orchestrated this career threatening attack? More details are to come as this story continues to unfold.
